Explore the new trail link that connects the North County Trail in Yorktown Heights to FDR State Park. Meet at 2pm at the parking lot at Burger King at Route 118 and Downing Drive. The trail follows the route of an old rail spur, abandoned in 1917, that once connected Yorktown Heights to a mental institution in what is now FDR State Park. Constructed by volunteers, including four Eagle Scout projects, the trail includes three bridges and over 800 feet of boardwalk that traverses a wetland.
